Cavities are one of the most common dental issues for kids and adults. Is It Normal To Feel Pain After A Dental Filling?
Some pain is normal after a dental filling. As the novocaine wears off you may notice some pain near the injection site this pain will usually fade away over the course of a few hours to a couple of days. You can treat any soreness with pain medication or an ice pack. However, if you feel pain for a few days or the pain is severe, you should immediately call your dentist to discuss your pain and potentially set up another dental appointment.
Why Does My Bite Feel Different After Getting A Filling?
Getting a dental filling can alter your bite alignment. During the procedure your dentist might have you bite down to feel if anything feels off and contour your filling to make sure it isn’t altering your bite. That being said, if you continue to feel like your bite feels off or your teeth are not touching when you bite down you will want to contact your dentist to potentially have your filling shaved down.
